The Newark Star-Ledger has named special projects editor Steve Crabill as its new business editor, managing editor of news Kevin Whitmer confirms to Talking Biz News.
Crabill is now reviewing applications for one-year internships on the business desk, says Whitmer. The business desk lost more than a dozen staffers last year due to the paper’s buyout offer.
Before joining the Star-Ledger in May 2000, Crabill was assistant managing editor for the Bergen Record. He also worked as a staff writer for the Stamford Advocate in Connecticut and the Macon Telegraph in Georgia.
He has a master’s degree in journalism from Boston University. His undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia is also in journalism.
