J. Jennings Moss, the new editor of the Silicon Valley Business Journal, writes about why technology coverage is vital to the country.
Moss writes, “I observed what was happening not just as a former resident, but as a working journalist. My career includes covering cops and courts, politics, breaking news and business. I’ve worked in Florida, Washington, D.C., and, for almost two decades, New York City. Since the end of the Great Recession, my main focus has been on the startup ecosystem — a world that owes so much to the Valley.
“Besides what’s been happening in this community, I’ve also kept tabs on the goings-on here at the Silicon Valley Business Journal. With almost every trip to see my brothers since I started working for this publication’s parent company, I made a point of stopping into the SVBJ’s newsroom. Without knowing it, I was getting a primer in the challenges and opportunities in covering this unique area.
“So, now I get to connect all of these dots and begin my work. I promise to keep the SVBJ a vital voice in print and online, a trusted destination for business owners, executives and entrepreneurs. And I hope to be here a long, long time.”
