A new publisher has been named at The Daily Report, a business newspaper based in Atlanta, and its editor has been given the additional title of associate publisher, according to a release.
Blair Matthews is the new publisher. Ed Bean, editor in chief of the newspaper, will assume expanded responsibilities as associate publisher.
Matthews has served as controller for the Daily Report. In addition, his management responsibilities have included oversight of circulation marketing, manufacturing and distribution. Previously, he served as controller for Tecumseh Products, a large national manufacturing firm, and as accounting manager, overseeing accounting, payroll and administrative services, for the Jekyll Island Authority.
Bean joined the Daily Report in 2000 as managing editor and was named editor in chief in 2005. His career spans 30 years in journalism, including positions as a reporter or editor at the Wall Street Journal, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Georgia Trend magazine. He has served as editor and publisher of the former South magazine and as editorial director for Williams Communications.
