Mike Consol has been named publisher of the East Bay Business Times. He is replacing Kevin Pitts, who is relocating to the Philadelphia Business Journal after two years as publisher in East Bay.
Consol has been with American City Business Journals Inc., the parent company of the East Bay Business Times, for 14 years. He was editor of the San Francisco Business Times from 1992 to 1997 before becoming publisher of the Portland Business Journal. Following four years in Portland, he moved to the company’s Internet operation, bizjournals.com.
For the past two years, Consol has been based in Charlotte, N.C., developing editorial training programs for all 41 business journals owned by ACBJ. He becomes publisher on Aug. 1.
