Business editor Brook Stockberger, who has been with the Las Cruces Sun-News for more than 17 years, has left the newspaper for a position at another newspaper.
A story on the Sun-News website states, “Stockberger came to the Sun-News in October 1996 as a sports reporter and was named sports editor in December 2000. In February 2004, Stockberger became business editor, a position he held until this week, when he accepted a job as managing editor at The Las Cruces Bulletin.
“In addition to business and religion reporting, Stockberger penned a ‘Babbling Brook’ column for the Monday Business section and his lifestyle column appeared on Page 1A of the Sun-News nearly every Monday. He is a five-time winner of the Las Cruces Sun-News Reader’s Choice Columnist of the Year Award. In 2009, Stockberger was named Small Business Journalist of the Year by the New Mexico Small Business Association.”
