Tony Quesada has joined the Austin Business Journal as managing editor, according to a story in the paper.
The story stated, “Quesada, who replaced Colin Pope after he was promoted to editor, will oversee daily operations in the newsroom.
“Quesada has been a reporter and editor at four newspapers in his 12-year career, including assistant city editor at the El Paso Times and executive editor at a weekly newspaper in Northeast Florida.
“Most recently, he was a senior reporter at the Jacksonville Business Journal, an affiliate of the Austin Business Journal, where he covered technology, transportation and logistics, international trade, the military and defense industry and sports business.
“While he was executive editor of the Fernandina Beach (Fla.) News-Leader, the paper twice won first place for general excellence among weekly newspapers.”
Read more here. Prior to journalism, Quesada, who grew up in El Paso, served in the Navy as a submarine officer, having graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
