The Keene Sentinel, an independent, family-owned community news organization serving southwestern New Hampshire, is looking for an enthusiastic business reporter to work in a lively news environment.
We’re looking for someone who loves telling stories and constantly works to tell them in new and better ways; someone who is curious; someone who seeks out the news rather than waiting for it to fall into their lap and who will get into the community to do the type of reporting that makes journalism meaningful. The right candidate asks questions, follows a hunch and isn’t afraid to pitch ideas. Applicants must have the self-discipline, drive and time management skills to juggle daily assignments, with the diligence and ambition to tackle thoughtful enterprise pieces.
This full-time position provides an excellent opportunity to get solid training in a digital-first newsroom that values mentorship. The Sentinel publishes throughout the week on its various digital platforms, as well as in its six-day print newspaper. Reporters write for both print and the web; social media skills are a must, and some night and weekend work is required.
Tell us how you fit the bill, and how you will make our paper better.
The Sentinel is an equal opportunity employer and offers a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package and an excellent working environment.
Please send your cover letter, resume and at least four writing samples to Managing Editor-Local News Anika Clark at aclark@keenesentinel.com. No phone calls, please.
