New editor in charge of biz coverage at North Carolina paper

Stacie Greene Hidek is now the editor at the Wilmington Star-News in North Carolina overseeing business coverage.

Metro editor Sherry Jones writes, “She will oversee a team of business reporters that includes Wayne Faulkner, Gareth McGrath, Judy Royal and Shannan Bowen. Stacie started in her new role on Monday.

“Stacie has worked for the StarNews for nine years, filling numerous roles on the universal desk. Those include copy editor, designer and most recently online producer. In her new role, Stacie’s team is part of the Metro Desk, and she reports to me (the metro editor).

“In recent months, the StarNews has placed greater emphasis on local business reporting, doubling the number of local stories on the business pages from August to October. Having Stacie oversee this team of reporters will continue our progress. Stacie’s known for her planning/organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to get things done – and done well.”
