George Spohr has been named business editor at the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, N.Y., according to a short story in Wednesday’s paper.
“In Binghamton, he oversaw the launch of the paper’s monthly business-to-business publication, Southern Tier Business News, which Spohr successfully transitioned to a weekly with a companion daily Web site. In New Jersey, Spohr worked to increase the Princeton Business Journal’s coverage of management and business-ownership issues.
“‘George joins the Record at an exciting time,’ said Executive Editor Derek Osenenko. ‘We are developing plans to expand local business coverage in print and online, and George’s demonstrated track record of developing strong, focused local business content is an asset our readers will benefit from.'”
