Paddock Publications Inc., which owns the suburban Daily Herald newspaper in Chicago, is launching a monthly suburban business magazine, reports Lynn Marek for Crain’s Chicago Business.
“The magazine will be distributed free to those who receive the Biz2Biz newsletter, plus other businesses in the Daily Herald’s coverage area, said Jim Cook, manager of marketing and promotion for the paper. That area mainly includes Kane, Lake, McHenry, DuPage and suburban Cook counties. The publication will have 32 pages and be printed on enhanced newsprint, he said.
“‘The connection of businesses to one another is a largely unmet need in the suburbs,’ Paddock Chairman and CEO Doug Ray said in a release related to the new business community initiative.
“Daily Herald business columnist Kim Mikus will be editor of the new magazine and will continue to write her twice-weekly column.”
