Andrew “Drew” Voros has been named business editor of the Contra Costa Times, replacing Stephen R. Trousdale, who has accepted a post as deputy business editor of the San Jose Mercury News, according to a story in the Times.
Reporter George Avalos wrote, “Voros is currently editor of the Tri-Valley Herald in Pleasanton. The Times also announced that Michelle Coffey, currently on the night news desk, will become deputy business editor. Voros and Coffey will be based in Walnut Creek.
“The East Bay appointments were jointly announced by Kevin Keane, vice president/news for the California Newspaper Partnership, and Chris Lopez, editor of the Times.
“”I look forward to working with the staff of the Times, in particular the business reporters I have been reading over the last decade,’ Voros said.
“The announcements marked the latest in a series of changes affecting the Times, the ANG Newspapers, and the Mercury News after the purchase of the Times and Mercury News by Denver-based MediaNews Group Inc.
