Graham Brink, who had been deputy metro editor, has been named the new business editor at the St. Petersburg Times in Florida.
Brink, 38, replaces Robert Trigaux, who returned to writing a column earlier this year.
The Times has undergone some changes on its business desk this year. The paper cut its standalone business section earlier this year, and two long-time reporters, Helen Huntley and Tom Zucco, accepted buyouts and left the paper. The rival Tampa Tribune also cut its standalone business section during the week.
Brink, a master’s graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, joined the Times as a reporter in 1997 and became a deputy metro editor in 2007.
A native of Vancouver, Canada, Brink graduated from Queens University in 1992.
