Doug Filarsoki is the new business editor at the Scranton Times Tribune in Pennsylvania, replacing Jessica Matthews, who is becoming the paper’s metro editor.
A story on the paper’s Web site states, “Mr. Filaroski will take over editing the daily business section in The Times-Tribune and the award-winning Sunday BusinessWeekly section that reaches more than 300,000 readers in The Times-Tribune, The Citizens’ Voice in Wilkes-Barre and The Standard-Speaker in Hazleton.
“Mr. Filaroski has two decades of newspaper experience, including reporting or editing investigations, government and business news. Prior to joining The Times-Tribune, he worked as an editor at The Business Journal and as an investigative reporter for The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Fla.
“A native of White Plains, N.Y., Ms. Matthews has been with The Times-Tribune for 10 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Mount Holyoke College and a master’s degree in print journalism from Boston University’s College of Communications.”
