New biz editor in Monterey

Lane Wallace, The Monterey County Herald’s interim business reporter since May, has been named to the position on a regular basis, according to a brief in the paper on Friday.

The brief states, “He replaces Marie Vasari, business editor since 2005. She gave birth to a daughter in June and has decided to be a stay-at-home mom.

“Wallace has been a copy editor at The Herald since 1996. He was a reporter and copy editor at the Register-Pajaronian in Watsonville from 1979 to 1996, including eight years as business editor.”
