NC paper names new biz reporter

Dick Barron, who has been a business journalist at the Greensboro News & Record before becoming assistant city editor, is returning to the business news beat as a reporter.

Jeff Gauger of the paper writes, “Barron has worked at the News & Record for 14 years in multiple roles, most recently as an assistant city editor. He did an earlier stint as a business reporter and served for six years as business editor.

“He is well matched for covering business topics. He understands business and business people, which is key for a reporter in winning their confidence. Today, already, he’s reporting on what the addition of a new airline means at Piedmont Triad International Airport.

“I’m pleased that Barron (‘Dick’ to his colleagues) is stepping into this important role. He’ll do well for you, our readers.”
