NBC News launches The Query covering media business

NBC News has launched its media section and blog called The Query.

The blog will be led by senior media editor Claire Atkinson and will include news, analysis and commentary on the world of media, marketing and entertainment.

The Query is also planning to launch a weekly newsletter, which will include analysis from Atkinson, a summary of top media news of the week and additional special features.

Atkinson will continue to write news and analysis for NBCNews.com’s tech and media section and she, along with a group of media contributors, will continue to appear on NBC News and MSNBC programming.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
