Jacob Ward has been hired by NBC News’ business & tech unit as a technology correspondent based in San Francisco.
Starting in December, Ward will cover the tech industry with an emphasis on technology’s role in society.
Previously Ward was editor in chief of Popular Science magazine for several years. He joined Al Jazeera in 2013 as the science and technology correspondent.
He also hosted investigative documentaries for Discovery, National Geographic, and PBS, and has contributed to The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Wired, and many other publications.
Ward is currently a fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University.
