David Firestone, managing editor for NBC News Digital, sent out the below note Wednesday morning to staff:
We are thrilled to announce that David Ingram is joining NBC News Digital as a tech reporter.
Dave joins from Reuters, where he has been a San Francisco-based correspondent reporting on Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and the business of social media. He previously covered white-collar crime and legal affairs for Reuters in New York and Washington. He was the Capitol Hill reporter in Washington for Legal Times and earlier wrote about North Carolina politics and government for The Charlotte Observer and the Winston-Salem Journal.
Dave will start on July 9 and continue to operate out of San Francisco, but will be in NYC for his first couple weeks on the job. Follow him on Twitter at @David_Ingram. He’ll report to Jason Abbruzzese, senior tech editor.
Please join me in welcoming him to our growing tech team!
