NBC News Digital executive editor David Firestone will be retiring in mid-May after 45 years in journalism, the last five of them at NBC News.
Firestone joined NBC in 2017, first serving as managing editor for NBC News Digital. He was then promoted to the post of executive editor. Before that, he served as managing editor at FiveThirtyEight, where he focused on politics.
He also spent 21 years as a reporter and editor at The New York Times. Prior to that, he has worked at newspapers in Dallas and Kansas City.
