National Journal managing editor Ben Pershing sent out the following announcement to the staff on Thursday:

Hi all. We’re very happy to announce that Casey Wooten will be joining National Journal to serve as our Tax Policy Correspondent, covering a centerpiece of the upcoming congressional agenda and a topic of great interest to our members and subscribers.

Casey comes to us after nearly four years at Bloomberg BNA, where he covered tax issues and, most recently, agriculture policy. He is a Houston native—adding to the contingent of Texans on our congressional team—and worked as a banking and energy reporter at Houston Business Journal before moving to D.C.

Casey’s first day here is this Monday, June 19. Please make him feel welcome.
