National Geographic hires Trivedi as senior science editor

Bijal Trivedi

National Geographic has hired Bijal Trivedi as its senior science editor.

Trivedi most recently served as a science and technology editor at The Conversation.

Over the course of her more-than-two-decade career, Trivedi has written and edited award-winning stories about human health, biology and biomedical research for outlets including Scientific American, Science, Nature, Wired, The Economist and The Boston Globe, as well as an acclaimed book.

In her new role on the Science desk, Trivedi will lead National Geographic’s COVID-19 coverage, creating original reporting and enterprising stories that illuminate the science behind the disease, provide a deeper understanding of available vaccines and treatments, and highlight the human toll of pandemics and other biomedical and scientific crises on diverse communities.
