Nashville Biz Journal web traffic up 25 percent in 2015

Lori Becker, the editor of the Nashville Business Journal, writes about the weekly business newspaper’s growth this year.

Becker writes, “Our readers tell us often why they read the NBJ. It boils down to three takeaways: They need to know what’s happening in the community. They need to meet people. And they need to learn how to do their jobs better and help their companies grow.

“Just like Music City, our audience is growing faster than ever. Subscribers to our daily digital editions and our weekly print edition are increasing at a steady clip. Traffic at NashvilleBusinessJournal.com so far this year is up 25 percent over 2014. Attendance at our events is on the rise.

“That’s because no matter the trends in business, the need to meet new people and be in the know isn’t going anywhere. Relationships matter.

“In many cases, the movers and shakers in Nashville business are where they are because of connections. They know the right people to call to get things done.

“NBJ readers aren’t idle. Based on our subscriber statistics, we know that 59 percent are business owners, partners or top management at their company. They have an average net worth of $1.8 million, not including the value of their home. And 86 percent of readers are decision makers at their companies.”
