Murray named Boston Business Journal publisher

Gale Murray has been named the new publisher of the Boston Business Journal.

A story on its website by Eric Convey states, “The promotion takes effect immediately.

“Whit Shaw, president and CEO of American City Business Journals, said in a memo to staff that he named Murray to the post due to her ‘local market knowledge, a background in solutions-focused sales and experience as a hands-on manager.’

“Murray, a graduate of Purdue University, worked for a number of years at Dow Jones & Co. She helped to launch smartmoney.com.

“Murray said: ‘I’m excited about this opportunity to work with a talented group of people and continue the path the Boston Business Journal is on in diversifying our product offerings, deepening our client relationships and strengthening our community connections.’ She and her husband have two adult sons.”
