Moser hired as deputy obsession editor at Quartz

Whet Moser, a senior editor at Chicago Magazine, has been hired by Quartz to be its deputy obsession editor.

He starts on Monday.

Moser joined Chicago Magazine in 2011 and previously blogged daily for the magazine’s Web site. He also developed Web-only content and packages that complement the publication’s print features.

He previously worked for the Chicago Reader.

A 2004 graduate of University of Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature, Moser had been a web editor and associate editor for the Reader from 2006 to 2011. His work also has been published by the Chicago TribuneSlate, and Salon.com.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
