Morningstar has promoted Tom Lauricella to the post of chief markets editor, overseeing how Morningstar helps investors make sense of the markets’ ups and downs.
Lauricella has been with Morningstar for over 6 years.
Previously, he was a stocks editor of The Wall Street Journal, organizing stocks coverage, developing and mentoring reporters in his team, and reporting stories affecting investors.
Lauricella had been with the Journal for 14 years, and was also part of a team that won a Gerald Loeb Award in 2011 for covering the flash crash. He has also covered the asset management industry. He also wrote a column for the now-defunct Wall Street Journal Sunday.
He has also served as a bond market reporter for Dow Jones Newswires.
