Mark J. Burns has been hired by Morning Consult to cover sports business and write a daily email newsletter on the topic.
He will start on Jan. 7.
Burns is the founder and editor in chief of Sports Business Chronicle, a media company covering the intersection of sports and business centered around a community and membership-based model. He launched it in October 2017 and shut it down a year later.
He has also been a contributor to Forbes and a senior writer at SportsTechie.
Burns has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan and a law degree from Belmont University.
