The Montgomery Advertiser newspaper in Alabama said Tuesday that it would cut its stock listings and replace them with a “Markets & Money” page.
The paper stated, “Among the new features is an expanded list of stocks of local interest. For several weeks the newspaper asked readers who depend on the newspaper for stock listings to tell us what companies they follow. That listing has been expanded from 26 to 42 stocks. The listings are in bigger type and easier to read. Each day’s stock report will include a few different fields of information, such as PE yield, dividends, weekly highs and lows or annual highs and lows.
“In addition to the stocks of local interest, the ‘Markets & Money’ page includes a daily Market Roundup, a summary of stock market performance; Sector Watch, a look at a particular industry; a daily stock spotlight; tips for investors, and information about mortgage rates.
“The new page also includes some information that has been available in the business section. These include the daily roundup of the exchanges and the commodities and futures reports.”
