Money names Auriemma as editor of digital

Money editor Diane Harris and Edward Felsenthal, digital director for news and lifestyle, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Adam Auriemma as Editor of Money Digital. A former deputy editor of Fusion and Managing Editor of The Daily Beast, Adam is an entrepreneurial journalist with a track record of building innovative newsrooms, growing audience, and producing high-quality journalism.

In his new role, Adam will oversee an expansion of Money’s digital coverage, building upon its unparalleled authority in personal finance with reporting and candid discussion of the myriad ways money affects our daily lives, relationships, health and families. As part of this transition, Money.com editor Scott Medintz, who oversaw the launch of the site after its spinoff from CNNMoney in June 2014, will be leaving the company later this year. Under Scott’s guidance, Money has built an audience of nearly 6 million unique visitors per month and a terrific runway for further growth.

At Fusion, Adam oversaw daily news coverage, started an award-winning social justice vertical and helped spearhead a site re-launch that tripled traffic over an 8-month period and sharply increased video streams. During his tenure at The Daily Beast, where he ran breaking news and special editorial projects, it won Webby Awards for Best News Site two years in a row. Adam also covered workplace and office culture at The Wall Street Journal.

A native of Massachusetts and a current resident of Miami, Adam is a graduate of New York University. In an unfortunate stroke of timing, he will be relocating to New York just in time for winter.

Please join us in welcoming Adam and in thanking Scott for his many contributions to the Money brand.
