June 27, 2006

Money magazine has opened its first Boston bureau, managing editor Eric Schurenberg announced Tuesday. Money magazineFormer Fortune Small Business editor-at-large Josh Hyatt has been named senior writer and will be based in Boston.

Hyatt spent five years at Fortune Small Business, and worked at Inc. magazine before that. As a business reporter for the Boston Globe, he chronicled the rise and fall of the “Massachusetts Miracle” of the 1980s.

Hyatt is an experienced editor and commentator on business and technology whose column, “E-Ventures” appeared monthly in the Boston Globe. As executive editor of Fortune Small Business, he was responsible for editing, writing, and overseeing major projects for the magazine, which provides news and information to help independent and small business owners better manage their businesses.

Hyatt lives in Brookline, Mass., with his family. Interestingly, he wrote a story for the May issue of Money on being laid off from Fortune Small Business. You can read it here.
