Money, Crain’s New York among Deadline Club award winners

Money and Crain’s New York Business were among the financial news media that won 2017 awards from the Deadline Club.

The winners were announced Monday night in New York.

Elizabeth O’Brien and Taylor Tepper of Money won in the magazine personal service category for “The High Cost of Coping.”

Jeff Koyen of Crain’s New York Business won in the magazine profile category for “License to grill.”

Jordan Robertson, Michael Riley and Andrew Willis of Bloomberg Businessweek won the magazine investigative reporting category for “How to Hack an Election.”

Paul Dyer of The Wall Street Journal won the headline writing category for “Lights, Camera, Redaction: China Sets New Rules for Filmmakers”

Nelson D. Schwartz of the New York Times won the business feature category for “Can Trump Save Their Jobs? They’re Counting On It.”

Martha Mendoza and Margie Mason of the Associated Press won the business investigative category for “Exploited in Paradise.”

Timothy O’Brien of Bloomberg View won in the opinion category.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
