MLex hires trade policy reporter in Brussels

Joanna Sopinska

MLex Market Insight has hired Joanna Sopinska to cover trade policy and enforcement in Europe.

Sopinska will join MLex in Brussels in the first quarter of 2017, working alongside existing European trade reporters Poppy Bullock in Brussels and Jennifer Freedman in Geneva.

She comes from from EU Trade Insights where she has been trade editor since September 2015. Prior to that, Sopinska spent nine years at Europolitics writing on trade and regulatory issues. She speaks English, Polish, French and Russian.

“We’re extremely pleased to have recruited someone of the calibre of Joanna to our team,” said MLex editor Robert McLeod in a statement. “While our trade coverage has long been highly regarded by practitioners, reporting on the challenges facing the global trade system requires even greater investment.

MLex has trade reporters in Brussels, Geneva, Washington, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and Sao Paolo.

Sopinska has a master’s degree in European affairs from Maastricht University.
