Kathryn Wall of the Springfield News-Leader in Missouri writes Sunday about leaving the business news beat at the Gannett paper.
Wall writes, “I’ve met some of the most innovative and interesting business minds anywhere.
“But my time on the business pages has come to an end. Reporter Thomas Gounley is taking over that beat, and, as you can see on the business page today, he has jumped right in.
“And me? Almost two years ago, Executive Editor David Stoeffler approached me about being part of a big project.
“We intended over the course of 18 months to shine a light on the issues that affected the well-being of children in the Ozarks.
“I was covering the court system then, and had — unfortunately — been very busy with child abuse cases.
“That’s how I came to be part of the Every Child project.”
