Carrigan Miller has been hired by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal to cover technology, health care and startups.
A story on its website by Miller states, “Tell us about your journalism background. I was involved with my high school paper, but it wasn’t until I got invested in my college paper, The Mac Weekly, that I realized it could be more than just a hobby. I did a little bit of everything at the Weekly so I could get a better sense of the component parts of a newspaper. The spring of my senior year, I took a position as an editorial intern for the Business Journal. That experience confirmed that journalism was the path I wanted to walk, so I was delighted when the Business Journal hired me to a full-time position this summer.
“What generated your interest in working for the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal? Business people are usually high-functioning people with a great command of the stories they tell about themselves. That makes covering them interesting and presents unique challenges. How do you cover industry leaders without being intimidated by them? Working with the business community is always exciting.”
