Milwaukee Biz Journal reporter moving to Boston

Milwaukee Business Journal reporter Alison Bauter is moving to Boston to pursue a potential job and freelance writing opportunities.

Bauter spent the last two years as banking, retail and technology reporter for the award-winning website and business newspaper.

She has broken many stories, including the identity of the buyer of the Shops of Grand Avenue in downtown Milwaukee, and landed exclusive interviews, such as with Northwestern Mutual CEO John Schlifske on why his company is investing $550 million in Milwaukee.

“She has earned the respect of our readers with her hard work, her knowledge of her beats and her ability to explain the significance behind the news,” said Milwaukee Business Journal editor-in-chief Mark Kass in an email to Talking Biz News.

Bauter previously worked at The Journal Times in Racine, Wisconsin. She is a University of Wisconsin graduate.
