Milwaukee Business Journal publisher Mark Sabljak announced Thursday that he will retire in mid-June, writes editor Mark Kass.
Kass writes, “Sabljak, who has been publisher of the news publication for more than 22 years, will retire June 10. He said he was most proud of the evolution of the paper’s newsroom from a print operation to one that excels both in print and on the web.
“We had a great news staff before I started, but it got even better as it took on the task of shifting to three platforms – print, digital and events,” he said.
“American City Business Journals president and CEO Whitney Shaw thanked Sabljak for his work to grow the paper over the past two decades in a tough media environment and make it the force it is in the Milwaukee business community.
“‘Mark has worked hard to make the Business Journal the city’s leading business website and newspaper,’ he said. ‘It’s hard to think of anyone in ACBJ who devotes more to their community than Mark, and it’s been that way since he became publisher.'”
