Michigan biz reporter Hepp leaving journalism to become a pilot

Brooks Hepp, a reporter at the Battle Creek Enquirer, will be leaving the organization and his career as a journalist to become a pilot.

The Michigan reporter will be joining a pilot school in Indianapolis where he will train for two years to become a commercial pilot.

Previously, he was a sports editor with The DePauw and also worked at 91.5 WGRE Radio as a radio show host. Before that, he was with News21 as a fellow and held the posts of opinions editor and editor-in-chief at The DePauw.

He also served as an intern-reporter at The Reporter-Times.

Hepp holds a bachelor’s degree in English writing from DePauw University.
