The Miami Herald was the winner in the business reporting category of the 75th National Headliner Awards, sponsored by the Press Club of Atlantic City, N.J.
Second place in the business reporting category was Boston Globe reporter Farah Stockman for the story “Multinational Corporations Get Around U.S. Laws”. Third place was USA Today, reporter Gary Stoller for “Airlines Rising Fares.”
Meanwhile, The Wall Street Journal won in the spot news category for its coverage of the Wall Street crisis.
Also, the Charlotte Observer won in the investigative reporting category for a series called “The Cruelest Cuts,” which examined the human cost of bring poultry to a consumer’s table. The reporters were Ames Alexander, Kerry Hall and Franco Ordonez.
