Miami biz journalist joins bank

Eddie Dominguez, a Miami business journalist for most of the past two decades, has been named senior vice president and director of marketing, communications and community relations for City National Bank of Florida.

Dominguez served as executive editor of the Daily Business Review in Miami since 2001, where he managed the publication’s editorial operations in digital and print, including reporters, editors and photographers.

He also oversaw the redesign of the publication targeting lawyers, real estate professionals and bankers and the subsequent re-launch of its website, dailybusinessreview.com.

Dominguez helped launch several new products and signature events at the Daily Business Review, including Most Effective Lawyers and Top Dealmakers.

Previously, Dominguez was editor in chief at Miami Business magazine and Executive Editor of Latin CEO magazine, two titles he helped conceive and launch. Under his leadership, Miami Business was repeatedly named “Best Written” by the Florida Magazine Association. He also worked as a reporter and editor for the Associated Press where he covered major national and international news stories.

Dominguez earned a Bachelor of Science in journalism and political science from the University of Miami.
