Mergermarket names Nag as ME for Americas

Mergermarket has hired Arindam Nag as managing editor for Dealreporter and Mergermarket products based in the Americas.

He will start on Feb. 18, reporting to global editor in chief of equities, Yana Morris.

“Bankers and corporate executives are increasingly looking for actionable content that speaks to their workflow,” said Nag in a statement. “They are not looking for just news anymore. They want easy-to-access insight that could lead to business opportunities. Both Mergermarket and Dealreporter have established themselves as providers of that kind of content globally.”

Nag started his career at The Economic Times Calcutta as a financial journalist in 1991. Three years later he joined Reuters in India and subsequently moved to Reuters London then New York to put six years into covering M&A and corporate finance.

He then worked at Dow Jones as a senior columnist on Wall Street Journal’s “Heard On the Street.” Nag also worked on Dow Jones’s “Investment Banker” where he was responsible for the launch of the product as well as its editorial team.

For the past 20 months, Nag worked for Greenwich Associates, where he developed the content for the firm’s buy-side clients, including asset managers, endowments, pensions, and investment banks.

Nag earned his MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. He also earned a post-graduate degree in Applied Economics from Birkbeck College, University of London.

In the first several months, Nag will focus on hiring, new initiatives including the launch of ECM product in the States, and increased collaboration between equity products in attempt to improve sectors and private equity coverage.
