Reyhaneh Fathieh has joined the Mergermarket and Dealreporter editorial team in Los Angeles, where she will be covering key industries in the region, including digital media and aerospace.
Fathieh comes to us with a unique background that spans both journalism and investment banking.
During her undergraduate years at the University of Virginia, she interned at the Washington Post where she gained experience breaking news. She then spent more than two years as an entertainment and lifestyle reporter for USA Today.
From there, Fathieh achieved a master’s degree in international finance and economic policy at Columbia University, before spending 19 months as an investment banking associate at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group in Los Angeles. After Mitsubishi UFJ, she continued her banking career as a strategic consultant at Houlihan Lokey.
Along the way, Fathieh spent a year working in Turkey, Bahrain and Equatorial Guinea, where she produced economic reports for The Oil and Gas Year, and she also founded a content marketplace startup in Los Angeles.
