CNBC personal finance writer Darla Mercado is becoming a markets editor for the business news website.
She starts her new position next week.
As a personal finance writer, she has been writing about taxes, retirement planning, insurance and more. Mercado is also a Certified Financial Planner professional.
She has been at CNBC since July 2016. She previously spent eight years at Crain’s Investment News writing about retirement, life insurance, tax planning and estate planning, among other issues.
She also worked the Pension Resource Institute, where she taught retirement plan advisors about the value of fiduciary education.
Mercado holds degrees from University of Maryland-Baltimore County and New York University.
