Reporter Henry Meier has been promoted to managing editor at the Los Angeles Business Journal.
He replaces Omar Shamout, who left for an editing job at University of California-Riverside.
Meier will serve alongside managing editor Paul Eakins. Both report to editor Jerry Sullivan.
Meier is a veteran reporter — he’ll retain his Deal & Dealmakers column for the foreseeable future — at the Business Journal.
He’s also been a reporter for the Los Angeles Daily Journal, and his work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
Meier is a native of Sacramento and graduate of Occidental College in the Eagle Rock district of Los Angeles, where he earned B.A. in philosophy.
