Houston Biz Journal hires Mehrtens to cover restaurants, retail

Savannah Mehrtens

Savannah Mehrtens, a staff writer at The Houston Chronicle, is leaving to join the Houston Business Journal, covering restaurants and retail for the Houston area.

Mehrtens was previously an editorial intern at Monterey County Weekly and was also a photographer and writer at Texas A&M Student Media – The Aggieland Yearbook.

She was also a business and distribution manager, staff writer and photographer at The Nautilus Newspaper.

Mehrtens has a B.A. in journalism studies from Texas A&M University, where she also worked at the student newspaper.
