We are pleased to announce that for the next few months Meredith Mazzilli will be a specialist desker for the finance team in addition to her usual duties as Americas Desk editor.
During Carmel Crimmins’ maternity leave, Lauren LaCapra and Greg Roumeliotis will spend more time managing the finance team and focusing on breaking news. Meredith will take on some of their editing duties and work directly with finance team reporters to help them develop and hone their stories.
After receiving a master’s degree in journalism from NYU’s Business and Economic Reporting program, Meredith joined Reuters in 2011 as an editor focused on commodities. She has been an Americas desker since 2012 and is a CFA Exam Level III candidate. In recent months, Meredith has been working more closely with the finance team during earnings season and on longer features. Her writing flair ensures that a story about deferred tax asset writedowns is not only accessible but also a pleasure to read, and her attention to detail prevents “billion” turning into “million” in stories by accident.
