Gainesville Sun business reporter Emily Mavrakis has joining UF Medicine, covering students, faculty and alumni for digital and print publications.
She will also continue to freelance.
Mavrakis reported on food and dining, business, county government and the pandemic. Previously, Mavrakis was an intern and then served as a correspondent for the paper.
She was also a science writer intern at the Florida Museum of Natural History.
Mavrakis holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism, where she also worked at the student newspaper.
