Doug Banks, the editor of Mass High Tech, an American City Business Journals publication, has been named the publisher of the publication.
He replaces Michael Olivieri, who is becoming chief revenue officer for the Charlotte-based parent company.
A story on the Mass High Tech site states, “Banks has served as editor of Mass High Tech since 2005. In that time, he has led two redesigns of the print publication, including its most recent conversion from a weekly publication to a bi-weekly publication, along with the change to focused, themed issues. He has also launched several new programs, including a new website that provides breaking news to the New England innovation community every day through a web edition and e-newsletters.
“‘Over the past 4 years Doug had proven himself to be a strong leader with the creative ability to understand what’s around the corner in an ever changing media landscape. He is the right person to lead Mass High Tech,’ said Olivieri.
“Banks joined ACBJ initially in 1998 as a reporter/editor for the Boston Business Journal covering the legal profession. After a stint as a staff editor for Fast Company, he rejoined the BBJ in 2001 as an associate editor covering real estate and special supplements, before being promoted to editor of Mass High Tech.”
