Mashable’s Warren joining Gizmodo

Christina Warren

Christina Warren, Mashable’s senior tech correspondent, is leaving to joining tech news site Gizmodo.

She will start Aug. 22.

Gizmodo editor Katie Drummond wrote:

I am thrilled to announce that Christina Warren is joining Gizmodo as senior technology writer, a role that will see her as a marquis voice in defining Gizmodo’s point of view on the major stories of the day, as well as breaking stories of her own and doing the kind of vital and expert reporting that can move and shape a conversation. In other words: she is really really good, and is going to make our tech coverage even better than it already is.

Christina joins us from Mashable, where she’s worked since 2009 and is currently senior tech correspondent. Among her best recent work from Mashable is the inside story of how Stony stole the Steve Jobs movie, key reporting on Apple’s encryption feud with the FBI, and even an interview with Tim Cook (fun challenge: seeing if she can get a interview with Tim Cook at Gizmodo!). She also runs a very successful podcast, Rocket, and has done a ton of TV, video work, and public speaking gigs (I look forward to seeing her on lots of Gizmodo video!).

She has been featured on CNN, NPR, Bloomberg, WSJRadio, the BBC, Fox News and Marketplace Radio.

As a speaker, Warren has presented at Yale University, the Handheld Librarian Conference, SXSW Interactive, NAB Show, ANA, MediaVest and Zenith’s Mobile Agency Day and the Tribeca Film Festival.

Before joining Mashable in 2009, Christina was the deputy editor at Download Squad and The Unofficial Apple Weblog. She has also written for USA Today and for AOL’s StyleList Blog. From 2009 – 2010, she was also an associate editor at AMC Entertainment’s Script-to-Screen blog
