Katie Martin has been named the capital markets editor at the Financial Times.
She started her new position on Monday.
Martin has been the head of fastFT, its breaking news service. She also writes for other parts of the FT, mainly about markets. She was previously at the Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones for nearly 11 years.
At the Journal, she was markets news editor in Europe. She was hired by the FT in May 2015 as deputy editor for fastFT.
Adam Samson is the new head of fastFT. He has been a reporter for fastFT since September 2015 and previously worked at Yahoo Finance and Fox Business Network. He is a graduate of Bard College in economics.
