Clara Ferreira Marques, a Reuters Breakingviews associate editor, is leaving to join Bloomberg Opinion.
At Bloomberg Opinion, she will write about commodities and ESG.
Marques was based in Hong Kong for Breakingviews. While there, she wrote about commodities, energy, and the business, finance and politics of southeast Asia. She joined in November 2017 from Reuters, where she spent almost two decades, most recently as Asia companies editor. Before that, she was bureau chief in Mumbai.
She spent the boom mining years as global team leader for mining, until 2013, and both boom and crisis years as financial correspondent, covering banks and insurers in London. She was correspondent in Milan and Moscow prior to that.
She studied politics, philosophy and economics at Oxford University.
