Eric Garcia, a reporter for Marketwatch.com in Washington, is leaving for the National Journal to cover politics.
For Marketwatch, he has been covering the worlds of high-frequency trading, insider trading and other hot-button regulatory subjects.
Garcia graduated in May 2014 from UNC-Chapel Hill, earning his bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus in reporting, but got his real-world education in journalism working at the Daily Tar Heel, reporting on the N.C. General Assembly, voter ID and health care policy and interviewing political figures like Sen. Kay Hagan.
He has written for the New Republic, Salon, the Southern Political Report and the American Prospect.
